Wacom 12WX quick review (E-mailed question)
September 26th, 2008Hi, great artwork.
I have a question for you about the new Wacom Cintiq 12WX,
cause I\’d like to buy one: Is it true that is dificult to draw in the limits of the surface, or that the surface isn`t as good as the intuos one. Also like to know if there\’s any delay when you draw or is it real time cause i\’ve seen videos where it seems to have a little delay when drawing ( but maybe its a matter of angle). Well thanks and hope you can tell me this cause I want to know I should buy this one or continue with my intuos 3.
bye
Leuz
Hi,
I’ll give you a short review about the 12WX, in my opinion is the best tablet I have ever used, is completely different from the regular tablets like the Intuous 3 as you have more control on the strokes so you can enjoy more the process of painting while consuming much less time, the workflow is much more natural and artistic, one drawback is that it’s not as portable as it’s shown, mainly because you need a bunch of cables to connect the tablet, currently I’m working using a Macbook Pro 5.6 Ghz and I find it tedious connecting and disconnecting the device since I can’t connect two screens at the same time, but that’s just my case. about the tablet response I have to say it’s not as precise in the limits as it’s on the center of the tablet, however, you shouldn’t worry about that because you’ll be drawing most of the time in the center if you find any delay while working it must be due to the lack of memory or your computer tech specs, I own a Intuos 3 myself but since I got the Cintiq I haven’t use it at all and I don’t think would want to draw again on it, in short if you have the money and want to change the way you work for better then you should not think twice about it.
Cheers!
